My First Experience!!

My friend has got a new TvS Apache bike.. and he showed it to me with all new enthusiasm. "Doesn't it look like a battle horse?", he exclaimed and his face glowed when he said that. "But I don't understand one thing", I replied. "Why have they raised the pillion rider's seat to this level? It would look very funny if I sit on it now.""Ha ha!! who said that I will let YOU to sit on it? I have bought this one for the very same reason.. I won't let anyone sit on the back seat..". I grinned.. Lets see buddy!! I wonder what will you do when you get married…

As an afterthought, I was thinking about the first time I sat on a two wheeler.. I should have been in my UKG or Ist standard then.. My father brought the new "Bajaj M80" home and we all looked at it in awe. My mother was either carrying eddy or had just delivered.. I dont remember that part.. But what I remember is, she wasn't allowed to sit on the pillion that time due to either one of those reasons. So, that time only Judy used to sit on the pillion and go out with my father..

I should also say that I was so innocent and ignorant at that time that I believed whatever Judy told me.. He made me believe that even "pillion riders" had a role to play in the actual driving. First, I didn't believe.. But he convinced me nicely. And then, there came the day when my father had to take me to his family friend's place since that family friend had a daughter and she wanted to play with me. So I got all scared (not of that daughter) about the driving lessons that I have to take and went and consulted my consultant (who else but my big great brother??)

So was this consultation…

Moi:Okay, what should I be doing?

Judy:Its all simple you know.. Just sit straight whenever father is travelling on straight roads.. You would have to be very careful when he turns left or right or takes a U turn.

Moi:Oh!! why? why? why?

Judy:Thats because.. if you sit straight, Father would lose his balance then!! and both of you would trip and fall.

Moi:oh oh!! I don't want that to happen!!

Judy:Yeah exactly. So this is what you should be doing.. Whenever father takes a right or left, you put pressure on the opposite side.

Moi:Hmm.. What? how do I do that?

Judy:Its just easy kiddo!! Just exert all your weight on that side.. And it will perfectly balance then…

Moi:Oh!! Thanks a lot Brother!

And when we travelled, father did experience a weird feeling (thanks to my driving techniques) but he didn't complain.. as he thought that was a coincidence.. This continued for some days and one day he told my mother that he doesn't want to take me as I didn't know how to sit yet! I got very worried and went and had a quick consultation with my official consultant!!

Judy: Hey!! I also thought that it should have been done that way.. But Father said, that I should be doing exactly the opposite.

Moi: What? Should I then be exerting pressure on the same side?

Judy: Yeah!! Didn't I tell you before?

Moi: Oh oh! Judy!! You always forget..

Father had a great time after that!! He lost his balance and we almost fell during the next drive.. He warned me nicely and Judy became his official pillion rider after that!! Only then I realised the ploy!! sigh!
