Safety measures for ladies travelling alone in India

Filed under: Life as I know it — Celia Rexselin @ 5:31 am

Once Mahatma said, “Real independence would be obtained when a lady walks without fear at 10 pm wearing jewels”. I think he was overly optimistic.
Forget about jewels, whether you have it or not, its still not safe. I have added some simple precautions that you can take if you are travelling alone.

1) Avoid wearing clothes that reveal too much.
2) Carry very less cash in hand and carry cards instead.
3) If you get a call, avoid speaking personal information.
4) Keep emergency contacts ready and keep them posted on your where abouts.
5) Do not talk to strangers who seem nice and who offer to help even when you have no reason to get help.
6) Be sure of your self and be confident. Evil men target gullible young women.

Last but not the least avoid attracting attention to yourself.

Great Love

How great is a love that comes from a pure heart, clear conscience and genuine faith.
How great it would be to let go of all your cares and surrender yourself completely to someone who loves you the most!
Thank you God for this love. Though my flesh is weary and failing, my spirit is gaining strength because of your love.
You have got me and I will not be afraid.

My lord is a healer!

When you are very tired, your whole body aches and you long to be in the comforting arms of jesus,
Just close your eyes and meditate on his word. The feeling is divine.
O Lord! Help us remember our mortality so that we may live our lives wisely.

Um sannidhiyil

Um sannidhiyil naan muzhangaalil ninru, um paadhaiyil naan nadanthittaal, enna thunbamae vandhaalum naan pin thirumbaenae.

When my toddler sings the above, my eyes mist. Lord, let my son always be your son and never backslide. But please do not let him suffer too much. Keep him away from evil people and sickness.

There is always a way

Filed under: Life as I know it — Celia Rexselin @ 12:09 pm

There are times when we think that we can never ever do something.
Handling pressures at work, being a responsible parent or a child, saving a marriage, opening a business, losing weight.. It can be anything.
God promises that there is always a way. One failure does not mean that you need to give up. Keep on with the faith and refuse to give up. You will find a way.
