I love you more day by day

Filed under: Poems — Celia Rexselin @ 10:26 pm

Had to attend a wedding of a very close friend of mine. The short stay at her place was pleasant filled with sweet memories. I have always known her as a sweet friend, correcting sister and a good prayer mate, but this time I discovered the poet in her. Thought I will blog the song which she had written and sang on her engagement day!! and so praise God for her….. with her…

Brought up in the light of His love from childhood,
I still didn’t accept his love for me,
I never used to go to church
With a heart to seek Christ,
But one day, the Lord touched me,
And showed me that He loved me
More than anyone could.

Jesus, I love you more day by day,
Jesues, I love you more than words could say,
In times of distress, you made me gay
And yes, Lord, You are the potter, I’m the clay.

Lord, I need your love everyday,
I know that only your love supports me,
Even through the hard times
Your love guides me through;
It keeps no record of wrongs;
Rejoices with the truth
Lord, teach me your love that’s pure.

When I needed your soft touch,
You gave me your love,
You held me by your hand, O Lord!
And took me thro’ my test
And brought out a humble me,
Gold refined by fire
Your love never fails.

When I never trusted,
You gave me a mind to believe,
You trusted me though I never
Paid heed to you
Help me not to lean on
My own understanding
Lord, teach me the love that trusts.

Though I lived a hopeless life
All along your love searched me
Found a new hope for me in you
The hope that was built on you
It helped me lead a new life
A life that glorifies you,
Lord, teach me the love that hopes..

Joy To The World!!!

Filed under: Short Stories — Celia Rexselin @ 7:28 pm

I wish you all a very happy Christmas.. Have a wonderful feast and fun filled day 🙂

Got so many wishes and emails wishing for happy christmas… And one of my friends had chosen to send me a story rather than a simple wish. Would like to share it with you all.

Big GOD …

Two men went fishing. One was an experienced fisherman, the other wasn’t. Every time the experienced fisherman caught a big fish, he put it in his ice chest to keep it
fresh. Whenever the inexperienced fisherman caught a big fish, he threw it back.

The experienced fisherman watched this go on all day and finally got tired of seeing the man waste good fish. “Why do you keep throwing back all the
big fish you catch?” he asked.

The inexperienced fisherman replied, “I only have a small frying pan.”

Sometimes, like that fisherman, we throwback the big plans, big dreams, big jobs, big opportunities that God gives us. Our faith is too small.

We laugh at that fisherman who didn’t figure out that all he needed was a bigger frying pan, yet how ready are we to increase the size of our faith?

Whether it’s a problem or a possibility, God will never give you anything bigger than you can handle. That means we can confidently walk into anything God brings our way.

You can do all things through God. Nothing is too big for God.

Stop telling God you’ve got big problems.
Tell your problems you’ve got a BIG GOD!

Lets remember that we all have got a mighty God who takes care of all our needs and loves us like anything that he even came into the world and gave his life for us..
So, Never, never Give up 🙂

Are you my neighbour ?

Filed under: Life as I know it — Celia Rexselin @ 8:34 am

Had to go to the tailor to get back my christmas salwar kameez. I was busy seeing how the neck pattern was when “tailor aunt” posed me this question.. “Where do you live,ma? I saw you near my house yesterday..”.

I was surprised and told her my place. “OMIGOD!!”,aunt quipped. “We both live in the same street. My house is diagonally opposite to yours.” I was clueless as I wondered how I missed seeing her for these past 6 months.. Needless to say that am having this same tailor for the past 4 years. Not a surprise for me though.. as I rarely stay at home during the days.. I mused to myself.”What an irony! Here I was thinking that I have crossed all geographical boundaries and maintaining contacts thanks to the internet. But I had missed my own neighbour.”

This reminded me of a conversation I had with a close friend of mine few days back. She had recently got married and has gone to UK. She was telling how difficult it is to socialize there and how she ended up tracking an indian family through various calls to home and friends only to discover that this indian family stayed next to her place..

Aunt’s laughter got me out of my thoughts.. “Now that I know we are neighbours, I’ll have to take extra care for your dress… You better be!! I remarked. If you do not give it to me before Christmas, I will end up going to church without any.;)”

Aunt was ROTFL… No problem at all kiddo.. Max that can happen after that is tsunami.. and India now knows how to handle it.. After all, its going to be Dec 26 again :))

Everyone laughed on hearing that!! I came back home and saw my next door aunty waiting with a bowl in her hand.. I usually am not a good starter of conversations though I make up for it by being a good listener. But for a change and for reasons best known to “me” and my readers, I initiated.. “What is it, aunty?”.

I made mehendi paste ma.. When you were coming I thought I can ask you whether you would like to keep mehendi.. But I wasn’t sure whether you will like it..

Oh!! Am I glad!! I thanked her and accepted it. Later when I went to her home to show her my hands.. She was delighted…

Boy!! did I discover another aspect of life??

Its December 6!!

Filed under: Just For Laughs — Celia Rexselin @ 6:24 pm

Err.. This post should have come on december 6 but guess it also has gone off schedule ;). Well, I did start on the day but wasn’t able to finish it.

Now the time rewinds to some 4 years back when I was in my College(Oh My God!! I didn’t realise that time is running so fast)… We were having our semester exams that time and were studying (everyone else studying and me sleeping soundly.. well .. moi was not a night bird those times). Deep in my sleep, I realised that someone was trying to wake me up and I stirred. It was my roomees and they were tensed like anything. Sensing that something bad had happened, I got up and asked them..

“What happened?”

How can you sleep this soundly when everyone else is in such a panic?

Why? Something happened? Guys throwing stones? (Well, this was usual in our college.. when guys happen to be in high!!! spirits, they’ll occasionally drop by and would yell names and throw stones inside the campus thinking that to be some sort of college romance..)

Nah, Radhiks received a warning call at 12.

Warning call?

Aaama, she was walking and studying when the intercom buzzed. When she answered, some guy said.. “Indru December 6… ” appuram I am not sure what else and all he said. But everyone is scared. And they think that its a bomb. Radhika got so scared that she dropped the reciever and alerted all of us.

So? What are we supposed to do now? Do you think we can call up the warden at this ungodly hour?

No yaar, lets all go to a common place and be safe.. When it dawns, we can go and report.. Also, yesterday I read in the news paper that police squad had come in coimbatore fearing some reactions for babri masjid demolition.

Hmmm.. Like this we went on arguing and no one slept that night and december 6 safely dawned. We were too scared to tell anyone and were still in the hostel when one of the day scholars came.

Hey!! ennapa? ellarum oru maadhiri irukkkeenga?

Illapa… nethu nightu ..I briefed her..

And she started laughing while it was our turn to get astonished.

“Why are you laughing? Do you think this is a joke?”..

Nah, Nah. The telephone officials had set up an automated alarm which goes on saying.. “Indru December 6. Indrya Dhinathil, polio sottu marundhu kodukaa maravaadhiir…”

Loitering Around

Filed under: Life as I know it — Celia Rexselin @ 10:33 pm

Whenever I go to shopping complexes, and I hear some good music, I loiter around and have a good time. Today the victim was Spencer Plaza. The bright lights, a good friend to hang with.. I was enjoying myself and shopping when I heard this good old carol..

O star of wonder, star of light,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.

Heavenly!!! It took me to the ages of the three wise men… To think about this, rumour has it that since the three wise men were from the east, one of them was from India and its none other than Thiruvalluvar… Can be fallacy but there is a possibility since Jesus and Thiruvalluvar were contemporaries…Who knows?

Interview Question of the year!!

Filed under: Developer's Notes — Celia Rexselin @ 1:01 am

“You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike. There is a dusty laptop here with a weak wireless connection. There are dull, lifeless gnomes strolling about. What dost thou do?”
