Would the court officials notice?

Filed under: Life as I know it — Celia Rexselin @ 4:37 pm

Was watching Sun News when a particular topic caught my attention. It seems that the Madras Highcourt has started something called epetitions. This is a welcome move and really saves lot of paper work and time.

They showed a website conveniently not mentioning the site’s name. A person (supposedly a lawyer) was sitting in front of a desktop and trying to submit a petition. The next page had some code spill out with “java.lang.something unhandled exception”. But neither the cameraman nor the court staff seem to have noticed it. The camera was proudly focussing on the error page as if it were the petition.

Its a pity that the judiciary is so handicapped when it comes to technology in a country abounding with IT professionals.

  5. @ttm – Ha Ha, I should say that you have a great sense of humor 🙂

@Nanyaar, @Syam – at ttm? enna? romba overaaa irukku?

@Annaraj – Thanks for dropping by. But I think mistakes should be pointed out if any.

#You tell me, how many IT professional are working for Indian projects.

Anna, projects kuduthaaa thaan naanga seivom. 100s of crores are getting allocated to so many things. Can’t they spend 1000s to develop a good website? I don’t mind doing a website for the judiciary. But they would have to ASK**.

@Syam – I agree, but they should be atleast intelligent to marachify their bugs. What is the point of showing a demo in a News channel if all they can show is an exception page? If this had happened in BBC or CNN, it would have become a major news.
