Love you too much da anna!!!

Filed under: Life as I know it — Celia Rexselin @ 3:42 pm

Brother had been to a birthday party yesterday. He called up and said that it was getting late there and he thought of staying there at friend’s place itself. Papa said yes but asked him to drive careful when he comes back home in the morning. This guy returned in the morning and mom asked whose bday it was…

Eddy replied that it was his friend Priya’s uncle’s birthday!! Mother stopped short of laughing.. But she was amused. “Why? Is it his 60th birthday or something?”. He said, “No ma.. this uncle would be just some 10 years older than us. We ourselves didn’t expect it. When she calls, how can one refuse?”

Mother looked at me. I didn’t say anything. Wished that I had a friend like this who would treat me for all her/his šŸ˜‰ relatives bdays. Anyways, this female is quite interesting in a different way too.

Last week, I had to salvage my brother’s shelf from breaking down and I was cleaning up the mess. Here I should really say something. When one cleans up a bachelor’s shelf, one should be at guard and be all awake and alert. No one knows what would be there inside.. Should say that brother’s things had the power to defy gravity. It had two of his helmets, his college books, his 3 leather bags, plus hundreds of papers.. If I had sold it to some paathiram vikiravan, I would have made a fortune.. Since no one was there in sight, I couldn’t become Lakshmi Mittal that day.. Anyways, let me not drift from the main story.

As I was cleaning, I saw a bunch of cards.. Greeting cards they were.. Immediately I felt touched. Oh my God!! This guy also saves all the cards just like me.. But they were all dusty and I cleaned them and was trying to put them in a case when one card grabbed my attention.

On the top of the card, was written a phrase, “Love you so much da, Anna”. :-/ what? I couldn’t bring myself to believe that I was seeing such a card. Never in my sane sense have I written such a phrase.. Yup, there were some rare moments when I call him, anna.. But that was rare..

Anyways, I wasn’t so sure.. When I was in hostel during college, I used to miss family like anything that I would send long snail mails to each of them. May be, this is one of such things.. I opened it to see an equally mushy birthday greeting. And it was signed, Priya.

I can’t really say how I felt. But I should really admit saying that I felt a pang of amuse. But afterwords, I didn’t consider that too much.. Cleaned it up and placed it inside the case. Even I hold some of my friends close to my heart and consider them very much as my own brothers.. but then, indha love you too much da anna.. konjam overaa therinchu thu appa..

But now considering, uncles bday party, I don’t think that its too much anymore..

  15. Duh!! I don’t know whats there to be spoiled and its not about treating-women-with-respect or whatever. Its the possesiveness factor that MY sis should be the ONLY PERSON on earth who should call me as ‘Anna’.
